HC Deb 22 June 1891 vol 354 cc1073-4
SIR T. ESMONDE (Dublin Co., N.)

I beg to ask the Postmaster General if the Treasury have agreed to the recommendations he made to them lately with reference to the Dublin postmen; and whether, in connection with those recommendations, consideration will be taken of the fact that, while extra pay for Sunday duty has been allowed for other employés in the Dublin General Post Office, no increase of pay has been granted to the postmen whose Sunday duty is none the less arduous?

*MR. RAIKES

I have not yet been favoured with the Treasury reply to my recommendations on the subject of the postmen's memorials. The question of additional pay for Sunday work was one of those raised in the memorials, and it has, of course, been considered along with the rest.
