HC Deb 18 June 1891 vol 354 c793
MR. SINCLAIR

I do not propose to ask the Chief Secretary for Ireland the question which stands in my name—whether applications for aid for Training Colleges for teachers under local management have been received from the "Freres des Ecoles Chretiennes," at Waterford, and "the Presentation Brothers" at Cork; whether such applications have been acceded to or declined; and, if declined, on what ground is such a refusal based; if the pecuniary advantage enjoyed by the Marlborough Street Training College, the Church of Ireland College, Kildare Place, the Saint Patrick's College, Drumcondra, and our Lady of Mercy College, Bagot Street, is intended to be extended to other Training Colleges; and if similar pecuniary privileges and advantages will be afforded to a training college for Presbyterian teachers under the control of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ireland?
