Ordered, That a Select Committee be appointed to inquire and report upon the various weights and measures used for the sale of Grain throughout the United Kingdom; the desirability of selling Grain by weight only or by measure and weight, and, in the event of either being considered desirable, the extent to which either might be enforced; the desirability of the adoption of a uniform weight, either for the United Kingdom or any part of it; if a uniform weight is desirable the standard to be adopted, and whether there should be one standard for all kinds of Grain; and, if not, what should be the standard for each kind.—(Mr. Jasper More.)
