SMITHI beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been drawn to the telegram from Rangoon, which appeared in the Times of 1st June, regarding the treatment of Indian coolies returning from the Chin Hills; whether the Government have any information regarding the alleged harshness and neglect with which it is stated they have been treated; and whether inquiry will be made into the accuracy of these statements?
