HC Deb 04 June 1891 vol 353 c1619
MR. SEXTON (Belfast, W.)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury what is the cause of the prolonged delay in circulating the Loans to Schools and Training Colleges (Ireland) Bill, introduced on the 8th of April, and set down for Second Reading on Monday last?

MR. JACKSON

I am sorry that I am not quite in a position to give an answer to-day; but I may say that the question has been considered. The view of the Treasury is that legislation is not necessary. Communications have been passing between the Irish Office and the Treasury during the week, but no decision has been arrived at. Perhaps the hon. Gentleman will be good enough to repeat the question on Monday.
