CRAWFORD (Lanark, N.E.)In the absence of the Under Secretary of State for India I beg to postpone the question of which I have given notice—To ask whether the Secretary of State is aware that Mr. Slater, a junior barrister, has been appointed by the Bombay Government to act as Chief Residency Magistrate at Bombay; and whether Mr. Slater is duly qualified, according to the regulations, to hold this appointment?
