HC Deb 23 February 1891 vol 350 c1362
MR. COBB (Warwick, S.E., Rugby)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he will ascertain from the Lord Chancellor if he is aware that great dissatisfaction exists among many members of the Bar, and of other branches of the legal profession, as to the manner in which the business is conducted in the Queen's Bench Division of the High Court of Justice; and whether any changes are contemplated at an early date in the constitution of the Bench in that Division?

MR. W. H. SMITH

If the hon. Member desires it, I will ascertain from the Lord Chancellor whether he is aware of any such dissatisfaction as appears to be pointed at in the question. But I am already in a position to say that no representation from the legal profession has reached the Lord Chancellor making any suggestion for a change in the constitution of the Queen's Bench Division.
