HC Deb 09 February 1891 vol 350 cc204-5
MR. HANBURY

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether any decision has yet been arrived at with reference to the use to be made of the Fulwood Barracks at Preston, on which a considerable sum has recently been spent?

MR. E. STANHOPE

The Fulwood Barracks at Preston will continue to be occupied by troops. The removal of the field battery depôt leaves them large enough to accommodate a whole battalion, which was not previously the case.

In answer to Mr. TOMLINSON (Preston),

MR. E. STANHOPE

said: Upon the whole, in the distribution of troops, it is thought best to have infantry at Preston.
