§ THE FIRST COMMISSIONER OF WORKS (Mr. PLUNKET, Dublin University)The House is aware that within the last two years a considerable improvement has been made in the ventilation of the kitchens of this House, and I should be glad to enlarge their accommodation also, but there is no means of extending the existing kitchens without very considerable and costly structural alterations, and during the approaching recess I shall have my hands full in carrying out the recommendations of the Committee which has 1121 reported upon the ventilation of the Houses of Parliament generally.
