§ MR. DILLWYN (Swansea, Town)I beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether it is the intention of the Government to make any progress this Session, or at any future time, with the Clergy Discipline (Immorality) Bill?
§ MR. GOSCHENI fear that it will be impossible, in view of the great opposition to this Bill, to proceed with it this Session; but in withdrawing it it should not be understood that the Government have any intention to abandon the general objects it was intended to attain. The Government, in withdrawing the Bill, reserve to themselves the power of reintroducing the measure at an early period next Session.
