WOOTTON ISAACSONI beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the resignation of Captain Shaw, Chief of the Eire Brigade, whether Her Majesty's Government will consider the expediency of attaching that gentleman to some Department of State, in order that his valuable services may be retained for the benefit of the country?
§ MR. GOSCHENIt is well known that Captain Shaw is an officer of distinguished administrative ability, but I know of no vacant office connected with any Government Department where his services could at present be utilised.
