HAYDENI beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether there is any fund out of which the lock keepers on the Ballinamona and Ballyconnell Canal can be compensated for the loss of the salary of which they have been for some years deprived; and if he could say whose duty it is to keep the lock houses in repair?
§ *MR. JACKSONI know of no funds from which the lock keepers referred to could be compensated, even if they have a claim to compensation. The canal is not vested in any Government Department, but in Trustees. The canal has never been used for navigation purposes, and the works have been for many years abandoned by the Navigation Trustees,
