HC Deb 20 April 1891 vol 352 c904
MR. FRASER-MACKINTOSH (Invernessshire)

I beg to ask the Lord Advocate whether the desirability of providing a Superannuation Fund for public schoolmasters in Scotland has been considered by him; and, if not, whether he will take action in the matter?

THE LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. J. P. B. ROBERTSON, Bute)

The Scotch Education Department is prepared to give its best attention to any specific proposal for the establishment of a Superannuation Fund which may be submitted on behalf of the teachers; but the Government is not prepared to take the initiative in formulating such a scheme.
