I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for India whether it is the case, as has been stated in the newspapers, that some of "the reserve forces of the Black Mountain Expedition have been ordered to the front; and, if so, whether he is in a position to inform the House what regiments have been thus moved forward?

The Reserve Forces-of the Black Mountain Expedition have been ordered up not to the front in that direction, but to Kohat for the Miranzai Expedition. The full detail of the forces ordered up has not been received from India; but the following are either there or on the way:—3rd British Mountain Battery, 1st Battalion King's Royal Rifles, 19th Bengal Cavalry, 1st Punjab Infantry, 6th Punjab Infantry, 1st Battalion 5th Goorkhas, 15th Sikhs, and 29th Punjab Infantry.
