HC Deb 13 April 1891 vol 352 c351
MR. J. E. ELLIS (Nottingham, Rushcliffe)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Agriculture whether he will lay upon the Table, as a Parliamentary Paper, the Report of and evidence given before the Commission appointed by the Canadian Government respecting the shipment of cattle; and when he expects the Departmental Committee now investigating the Transatlantic Cattle Trade to conclude its labours and Report?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE (Mr. CHAPLIN, Lincolnshire, Sleaford)

The Departmental Committee upon the Transatlantic Cattle Trade are now considering their Report, and I hope that their labours will be completed and that their Report will be presented very shortly. It is proposed to print with the Appendix the Report of the Canadian inquiry into the Export Cattle Trade of the Dominion. The evidence is somewhat voluminous, and I doubt if it will be necessary or desirable to print it in addition to that given before the Departmental Committee, but I will consider that point.
