FERGUSSON,) Manchester, N.E.Her Majesty's Government are informed that the British East African Company have approved a Proclamation issued by their Administrator in Zanzibar, with the assent of the chiefs of the peoples concerned, decreeing immunity from slavery within a certain area in the company's territory and beyond the 10 mile limits It is understood that the Proclamation does not affect the status of slavery as now existent.
