HC Deb 20 March 1890 vol 342 c1249
MR. WHITMORE (Chelsea)

I beg to ask the Solicitor General whether he is aware that 13 months have elapsed since the last dividend was paid by the liquidator of the West London Commercial Bank, and that the liquidator has now in his hands the sum of £13,000 available for distribution; and, if so, whether any steps can be taken to expedite a further payment to the creditors, and to bring the liquidation as quickly as may be possible to an end?

THE SOLICITOR GEXERAL (Sir E. CLARKE,) Plymouth

I understand that dividends have been paid to the amount of 14s. 6d. by the West London Commercial Bank. It is true that it is a long time since the last dividend was paid. The liquidator was advised to fake proceedings against some of the Directors and against the representatives of others, and it is believed those proceedings will result in a large gain to the estate. I am informed there has been no improper delay in the matter.
