Kirby Green, to make representations to the Sultan in order to alleviate the alleged 1126 ill-treatment of the prisoners confined in the prisons at Tangiers and Tetnan?
§ SIR J. FERGUSSONThe attention of Her Majesty's Minister has been already called to the subject, and he has authority to make representations respecting the state of the prisons to the Moorish Government whenever he sees any prospect of doing so with success. I regret to say that, according to his latest Report on the question, he had found that diplomatic representations were ineffectual to abate the evils complained of.
