§ MR. BRADLAUGHI would ask the First Lord of the Treasury—and if he is unable to answer now I would ask him to consider it with a view to giving an answer to-morrow—whether he can fix a date for taking the Indian Councils Bill, especially as I understand it was one of the matters the Prime Minister 1048 referred to the other day as of primary importance?
§ MR. J. MACLEANWould the Government consider the expediency of putting down this Bill as the first Order of the Day on a particular date, instead of relegating it to the fag-end of the evening, when provisions of importance cannot be adequately discussed?
§ MR. W. H. SMITHI have already said that I am fully aware of the importance of the measure to which the hon. Members refer. I fully realise its very great importance, but at the present moment it is impossible for me to name a date. I will include this subject in the statement I shall have to make to morrow.
