BAUMANN (Camberwell, Peckham)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the delimitation of our sphere of influence south of the Zambesi, which was pro claimed by the High Commissioner of South Africa in November, 1888, is included in the questions now being discussed at Berlin?
§ SIR J. FERGUSSONIt has already been stated that our sphere of influence was not defined, but only roughly indicated towards the North-West; and this, as well as all other unsettled delimitations are under discussion. I must decline to enter into particulars.
