HC Deb 09 June 1890 vol 345 c439

Order for Second Reading read.

SIR J. LUBBOCK

I hope there will be no objection to the Second Reading, upon the understanding that the Bill be referred to a Select Committee.

MR. TOMLINSON (Preston)

I must maintain my objection. I understand that there is no likelihood of a Committee being appointed. My objection would be removed if I had an assurance on the point.

MR. CONYBEARE

Can the Government give us any assurance as to whether a Committee will be appointed or not?

Second Reading deferred till Monday next.
