HC Deb 09 June 1890 vol 345 c436

Order for Consideration of Bill read.

Motion made, and Question proposed, That the Consideration of this Bill be deferred till Wednesday.

MR. H. H. FOWLER (Wolverhampton, E.)

I think it was agreed that this Bill should not be taken until after the Companies Winding-Up Bill, which had been put down for Monday next. May I suggest that this Bill should be set down for the same day.

THE PRESIDENT OE THE BOARD OE TRADE (Sir M. HICKS BEACH,) Bristol, W.

If the hon. Member in charge of the Bill wishes that the Bill should be set down for Wednesday, I think it should be deferred to that day. It is not a Government Bill, and it does not follow that it will be taken before the Winding-Up Bill.

MR. H. H. FOWLER

It will be an advantage to deal with the other Bill first, and the Bills are so connected that we cannot deal with this Bill first.

MR. BARING (London)

As I sat in the Committee upstairs on both Bills, I can say that the right hon. Gentleman is mistaken; the Bills are wholly independent of each other.

MR. SPEAKER

It is usual to observe the instruction of the hon. Member in charge of a Bill as to the date of postponement.

Consideration, as amended, deferred till Wednesday.
