§ MR. BRADLAUGHI beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that a Convention has been signed with the Transvaal Government, and whether that Convention excludes Her Majesty's Government from the paramount position in Swaziland conceded to it under the Convention of 1884; and whether Her Majesty's Government have acquiesced in the demand of the Transvaal State for extension of their site to the sea?
§ BARON H. DE WORMSHer Majesty's Government are not aware that a Convention has been signed with the Transvaal about Swaziland; but if the hon. Member will repeat his question in a few days, I trust that I may be in a position to give him some information on the subject. The hon. Member will see that it would not be in the public interest that I should give further information until negotiations are concluded.
§ MR. BRADLAUGHI will repeat the question on Monday.
