§ SIR GEORGE CAMPBELLI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether Her Majesty's Government have advised or mean to advise Her Majesty in the issue of Royal Commissions or similar documents to give precedence by courtesy next after the Royal Family to Cardinal Manning or any other priest of any of the unestablished religious sects in this country; and, if so, whether that act of courtesy is one dependent on age, or any considerations other than the claims of the Religions Body to which he belongs?
§ * MR. W. H. SMITHI am not competent to express any opinion on such a difficult question as precedence. Such matters are regulated by Act of Parliament, and we have no intention of introducing a Bill on the subject.
