HC Deb 10 July 1890 vol 346 c1408

Order for Second Reading read.

MR. MARJORIBANKS

I hope the Lord Advocate will now say what course the Government intend to take in regard to the fisheries proposals of themselves and myself?

THE LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. J. P. B. ROBERTSON,) Bute

The Government Bill has not yet passed through the House of Lords. I may say the question has been considered by the Secretary for Scotland, and he does not think it would conduce to prompt legislation if the course suggested by the right hon. Gentleman were adopted.

Second Reading deferred till Monday next.
