HC Deb 10 July 1890 vol 346 c1301
MR. MARJORIBANKS (Berwickshire)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he is now in a position to make a full statement as to the case of the Rev. Mr. Dobie, who suffered imprisonment at Hodeidah; and what redress he is to receive for the maltreatment he has undergone?

*SIR J. FERGUSSON

The account given of the circumstances by the Turkish Authorities differs so materially from Mr. Dobie's version that the British Vice Consul at Hodeidah has been directed to make further inquiries as to the facts.
