HC Deb 28 February 1890 vol 341 c1489
(3.10.) SIR JOHN LUBBOCK (University of London)

I beg to ask the Vice President of the Committee of Council on Education whether an elementary school which takes English and geography as class subjects can present children for examination in history and elementary science as special subjects?

THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (Sir W. HAKT DIKE, Kent, Dartford)

There is nothing to prevent to such a plan, as that indicated in the question, being carried out, provided that a graduated scheme of teaching History and Elementary Science, as specific subjects, be submitted to and approved by the Inspector.
