COLONEL NOLANI have to move the Motion which stands in my name on the Paper, namely—
That the Committee on Town Holdings be re-appointed to inquire into that portion of the original reference to the Committee which the Committee was precluded by want of time from reporting on last Session—namely, 'into the question of imposing a direct assessment on the owners of ground rents and on the owners of increased values imparted to land by building operations or other improvements.'I hope the right hon. Gentleman will grant this inquiry, as it is really a matter of great importance to the parties interested?
§ MR. W. H. SMITHI think it only fair that the Committee asked for should be appointed, and therefore I make no objection to the Motion.
§ Motion agreed to.
