BRYN ROBERTS (Carnarvonshire,) EifionI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his honour Judge Chalmers, in his reply affirming the prevalence of perjury in English County Courts, suggested any remedies; and, if so, will he state to the House the purport of such suggestion?
§ MR. MATTHEWSJudge Chalmers expressed his opinion that it was difficult to know what remedy to suggest. He did, however, suggest that some good might be done if a small and summary punishment were provided for County Court perjury.
