HC Deb 24 February 1890 vol 341 c1012
MR. MOUNT (Berks, Newbury)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether the New Mole Guard Room at Gibraltar, which was closed during the summers of 1888 and 1889 on account of its unhealthy position from being over the sewer of the town, has been re-opened with the sanction of the medical authority; and whether it continuance is essential to the Service?

MR. E. STANHOPE

The New Mole Guard Room was re-opened in 1889 with the sanction of the principal medica officer, but it has been again closed a Ids suggestion. The position of this room is at the entrance to the fortress and the General Officer commanding considers a guard room necessary there.
