§ MR. GOSCHENA Bill dealing with light gold has long since been in print, and I should have asked the House to deal with it last Session if there had been time, but I have not yet made up my mind whether I should introduce it in precisely the same form. I have observed that many people seem to see a special relation between the withdrawal of light gold and the issue of £1 notes, yet the expediency of either measure is independent of the other.
