HC Deb 15 August 1890 vol 348 cc1143-4
DR. CLARK (Caithness)

I beg to ask the Postmaster General whether he is aware that the mail train from Edinburgh to the North very frequently misses the through mail at Perth, and that letters and newspapers for the northern counties are, in consequence, 24 hours late in being delivered; and whether he has made arrangements for despatching the mails by the Forth Bridge route, and so preventing this unnecessary delay?

SIR H. MAXWELL

The Postmaster General is aware of the unfortunate delays to which the hon. Member refers, and I am glad to say that arrangements have been made for preventing them for the future.

DR. CLARK

When will they begin?

SIR H. MAXWELL

I cannot say, but arrangements have been agreed upon.
