HC Deb 14 August 1890 vol 348 c989
MR. BUCHANAN

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether, considering that a Resolution was carried in the House on the 18th March in favour of vesting the responsibility for rights of way in Scotland in the County Councils, and that a wide feeling in favour of this reform exists in England as well as Scotland, and that a resolution to this effect was unanimously carried a few days ago in the County Council of Cumberland, the Government will introduce legislation next Session for vesting the control and responsibility for rights of way in the County Councils?

MR. GOSCHEN

I cannot pledge myself to such legislation as is suggested by the hon. Gentleman.
