HC Deb 11 August 1890 vol 348 cc524-5
MR. HENNIKER HEATON (Canterbury)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has received from the British Ambassador or British Consul in America copies of the Shipping Bounty Bills (providing large sailing bounties and mail subsidies, and designed to revive American shipbuilding) which have just been passed by the United States Senate; and, if so, whether he has any objection to lay the copies in question upon the Table of the House?

SIR J. FERGUSSON

We have not yet received copies.
