§ COLONEL LLOYD ANSTRUTHER (Suffolk, Woodbridge)I beg to ask the Vice President of the Committee of Council on Education whether it is correct, as stated in a letter to the Times by the Rector of Baylham, Suffolk, that it is the intention of the Department to withhold the £10 grant under Article 105 from schools which already obtain a special grant under Article 104?

HART DYKEThe letter from which the Rector of Baylham quotes was, I regret to say, due to a misapprehension on the part of an officer of the Department, and I am glad of this opportunity of again stating that the grant of £10, under Article 105 and Section 2 of the Code Act, 1890, will be in addition to any special grant obtained under Act 104 and Section 19 of the Elementary Education Act, 1876.
