HC Deb 24 April 1890 vol 343 c1278
MR. SINCLAIR&c.) (Falkirk,

I beg to ask the right hon. Gentleman whether his attention has been drawn to the disappointment caused by the amount received by certain School Boards in Scotland from the Probate Grant being so much less than the amount receivable from fees as formerly charged in the schools comprised in these districts?

*MR. GOSCHEN

The question of the distribution of the sum to be given in aid of local burdens in Scotland is not a matter within the special province of the Chancellor of the Exchequer. It is, however, being carefully considered by the Scotch Office and by Her Majesty's Government as a whole.
