HC Deb 24 May 1889 vol 336 c1002

Order for Second Reading, read.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Bill be now read a second time."—(Mr. Howell.)

SIR R. WEBSTER

The Bill has a most seductive title, but I cannot help regarding it rather as a wolf in sheep's clothing. It will alter the whole law in respect to corporate property.

MR. HOWELL

It is practically based on the Report of the Royal Commission.

It being Seven of the clock, the debate stood adjourned.

Second Reading deferred till Tuesday next at Two of the clock.

Attention called to the number of Members present. House counted and 40 Members found in their places.
