HC Deb 09 May 1889 vol 335 cc1563-4
MR. CAMPBELL - BANNERMAN (Stirling, &c.)

Can the right hon. Gentleman the First Lord of the Treasury give us any idea as to the time he expects to be able to proceed with the Scotch Local Government Bills, and whether the same course will be followed is on their introduction, that is to say will they be discussed simultaneously, and whether such a procedure will be in accordance with the Rules of the House.

*MR. W. H. SMITH

It would be as well that this question should be put sown. I may say, however, that we must take the Naval Defence Bill and the Budget Bill before proceeding with the Local Government (Scotland) Bills. I should wish to take them from day to day as soon as we get the important Bills I have mentioned out of the way.
