HC Deb 06 May 1889 vol 335 c1239
MR. T. W. RUSSELL (Tyrone, South)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland when the appeals from the decisions of the Sub-Commissioners in the several land cases on the Charlemont estate in county Tyrone will be heard; and if the Government can take any steps to expedite the hearing?

*MR. MADDEN

Unless moans are taken this year for expediting appeals, I do not think the appeals will be heard this year.

MR. T. W. RUSSELL

What I want to know is whether means will be taken for expediting appeals this year?

*MR. MADDEN

That is a matter which is at the present moment under the serious consideration of Her Majesty's Government. I am not in a position at present to make any further statement on the subject.
