HC Deb 28 March 1889 vol 334 c1019
MR. DAVID THOMAS (Merthyr Tydvil)

asked the Postmaster General if he could now state the results of the inquiry of the Departmental Committee appointed to consider the question of the conveyance by railway companies of letters that have not passed through the post?

*MR. RAIKES

The subject to which the hon. Member refers has been under the careful consideration of the Government. It is attended by legal questions which involve considerable difficulties, but I am not without hopes of arriving at a satisfactory settlement.
