HC Deb 21 March 1889 vol 334 c369
MR. HANBURY (Preston)

asked the Secretary of State for War what was the quantity of the various small arms and tents in the warehouse of the Government Army Stores at Weedon recently destroyed by fire; what was the quantity saved; and, whether, judging from previous stocktakings, and the fact that it was full in nearly every department, there was between £90,000 and £120,000 worth of Government property in the building?

*THE SECRETARY FOR WAR (Mr. E. STANHOPE,) Lincolnshire, Horncastle

At the time of the fire the Weedon warehouse contained about £130,000 worth of stores, consisting mainly of tents, swords, and lances. About £62,000 worth of these were destroyed.
