HC Deb 18 March 1889 vol 334 c50
SIR G. TREVELYAN (Glasgow, Bridgeton)

With reference to a Motion which I have on the paper for to-morrow, and with reference to the statement made last week, as to the Generals' List, I would ask in what state of maturity that proposal of the Government is, because if it is very near production I would not trouble the House with my Motion.

*MR. E. STANHOPE

I informed the House last week that I had a scheme in preparation, and I hope to be able to lay it before the House in the course of a few days, certainly in the course of a week, and, therefore, I may say in answer to the right hon. baronet that it will be produced, almost immediately.
