HC Deb 15 March 1889 vol 333 c1813
MR. MAC NEILL

I beg to ask the Solicitor General for Ireland whether he will fulfil the promise given yesterday, and say how many persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of District Inspector Martin?

MR. MADDEN

Thirty-eight persons were arrested, and either 20 or 21 were subsequently discharged. Of those discharged one has since been re-arrested, having since been identified as one of the assailants of Mr. Martin. These figures include all arrests.
