I beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is now prepared to state the names of the gentlemen who are to serve on the Committee to consider the distribution of the grants in aid to provincial Colleges; and if he can state the aggregate amount of the proposed grants?

The Committee will consist of the hon. Baronet the Member for the University of London, the hon. Member for South, Manchester, the hon. Member for the Prestwich Division of Lancashire, Dr. Percival, headmaster of Rugby, and the Rev. G. F. Browne (hon. Fellow of St. Catherine's College, Cambridge). The Vote, which will appear in the Estimates of this year, for "University Colleges in Great Britain," amounts to £15,000.
