§ MR. H. GARDNER (Essex, Saffron Walden)I beg to ask the Postmaster General whether he still proposes to replace the present iron telegraph wires by copper wires; and, if so, when?
§ MR. RAIKESSo long as the difference in the price between copper and iron wire is so large, the Post Office, in erecting new wires, must make use of iron. There has been no intention of generally replacing iron wire by copper.
