HC Deb 28 June 1889 vol 337 cc1012-3
MR. JAMES ROWLANDS (Finsbury, E.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he can now state whether the Report of the Commissioners of Police of the Metropolis for the year 1888 will be laid upon the Table of the House before the Vote in Supply for the Metropolitan Police is taken?

MR. MATTHEWS

I hope to lay this Report on the Table in the course of a few days, and probably it will be in the hands of Members before the Police Vote is taken; but as to this I can give no definite pledge.

MR. J. ROWLANDS

Will the right hon. Gentleman give a few days' notice of the day on which it will be taken?

MR. MATTHEWS

That is a question for the Leader of the House.

MR. J. ROWLANDS

Then I will ask the Leader of the House.

* THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. W. H. SMITH,) Strand, Westminster

No, Sir. I am afraid it will not be in my power to do that. The Votes will be taken in order, as they are reached.
