HC Deb 24 June 1889 vol 337 c540
COLONEL NOLAN (Galway, N.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War what is the present lodging allowance to unmarried sergeants, who are studying or learning operations in connection with gunnery at Woolwich; and, will he investigate as to whether sergeants, who are refused admittance to barracks, are receiving a sufficient allowance to pay for a room, fuel, and light at Woolwich?

* MR. E. STANHOPE

The rate of lodging allowance to unmarried sergeants who are studying or learning operations in connection with gunnery at Woolwich is 4d. a day. No complaint has been received that the amount is insufficient.
