HC Deb 21 June 1889 vol 337 cc421-2
* MR. ARTHUR O'CONNOR (Donegal, S.)

I beg to ask Mr. Solicitor General for Ireland whether it is a fact that, although Mr. Denis Kilbride, one of the Members for Kerry, was sentenced at one o'clock on 4th April last, at Killarney, to a term of imprisonment, he was not transferred from Killarney Police Barrack to Kilkenny Prison until the following day; and, whether this delay will pratically add an additional day to the period of his imprisonment?

THE SOLICITOR GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. MADDEN,) University of Dublin

I am informed that the Prisons Board have decided that under all the circumstances of the case the sentence should count from the 4th of April. The Governor of the Prison has been informed of this decision and will act accordingly.
