HC Deb 30 July 1889 vol 338 c1711
MR. WARDLE

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board when he expects the Commissioners to make their awards, in those cases referred to them, where County Councils and Councils of county boroughs have failed to agree as to the apportionment of the Exchequer contribution?

* MR. RITCHIE

I am informed that in the case of 23 out of the 27 counties a settlement has been arrived at between the County Councils and the Councils of the county boroughs. The remaining four cases were to be considered by the Commissioners to-day.
