HC Deb 23 July 1889 vol 338 cc1096-7
MR. STAVELEY HILL (Stafford, Kingswinford)

I beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether it is intended, by Clause 15 of the Revenue Bill, to abolish the sixpenny Stamp Duty now payable on a contract for the pur- chase of land, and to substitute for such stamp an ad valorem Duty upon such contracts?

MR. GOSCHBN

I have asked my ton. and learned Friend the Attorney General to answer the question if my ton. Friend will repeat it later on.
